SUMMER: Spend Your Summer Preserving Malta’s Heritage with Din l-Art Helwa!
Are you looking for a unique and meaningful way to spend your summer? Here’s an exciting opportunity to get involved locally, gain experience, and make a real impact on Malta’s cultural heritage.
About the Program: Din l-Art Helwa (National Trust of Malta) is offering summer programs for students (ages 16-24) at the historic Msida Bastion Cemetery and Historic Garden. Volunteers from around the world participate each year, with over 130 students joining from Malta, Europe, the UK, North America, and Africa.
What You’ll Be Doing: Under the guidance of Warden Paolo Ferrelli, volunteers engage in a range of outdoor activities:
Gardening and general maintenance
Monument upkeep and cleaning
On-site research
Surveying historical burials
Program Highlights:
Flexible Commitment: Projects can vary from 20 hours to four months.
Membership Perks: All student volunteers receive a free membership card for entry into 19 DLH properties across Malta and several National Trust sites worldwide.
Recognition: Volunteers receive a letter of appreciation for their efforts.
Additional Info:
Program hours: Monday to Saturday, 7:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
Please dress appropriately for outdoor work; gloves will be provided.
